Day Four

Yesterday, after coming back from the Fern Forest Eco- Village
we had a quick meeting with Linda to discuss what we learned and what information we had gathered. Today, we used what we learned to create further questions that we would be asking Shawn. We set up a lunch meeting in order to tie up any loose ends in our research. We were able to confirm the exact number of tents and talk further about safety measures that could be brought into place such as guardrails, fences and stairs for walking up the mountain.

On our way to sit down with Shawn, we walked through
Turtle River Park which featured turtles in man made rivers with fish. Under the beautiful large tree, we continued our questions and discussions such as the previously mentioned Donkey idea, garden expedition, and short and long term goals. The donkey idea consists of having tourists paying to have donkeys transport them up the side of the mountain to enjoy the breathtaking view of Jamaica.

Our research and question period was quite productive as we were able to gather information we had previously missed. We were able to make our final judgements on our project and how to go about it. The group will be meeting Friday in a conference room for an opportunity to collaborate together on what we have learned.

Tomorrow we are looking forward to visiting Breadnut Hill Primary School in Saint Ann’s Parish. We are going to visit the students in the grade 2 class as we have gathered some school supplies to give to the children.
